Wedding photography at The Gardens

Situated near Yalding in Kent, beautiful venue, The Gardens, venue sits on a 12.5 acre site. This is a lovely place to photograph weddings and is a favourite venue of mine.  The Gardens was originally created as a display garden for the Henry Doubleday Research Association. The current owners bought the site in 2013 and have a team of gardeners keeping everything perfect. There is a large restored barn at The Gardens which can hold any event. Upstairs in the Croft,  smaller occasions can be held including the wedding/ civil partnership ceremony and up to 80 guests can be accommodated. Also on this level is a large well lit room where the bride and bridal party can get ready. There is a large viewing gallery with stunning views over the lovely gardens. This is also a great place to take the large group shot looking down over the lawns. At The Gardens in the barn downstairs there is a larger room which can hold 80-100 guests for the wedding ceremony and reception in the colder months or if the weather is unkind in the summer. The evening disco is held in here normally and there is a bar and doors out onto the gardens where there is also a covered seating area.

At The Gardens, joined on to the barn there is a fantastic tipis. The tipis can accommodate up to 150 guests for the sit down wedding meal and 200 for the evening buffet. The tipis is heated when needed and the sides can be lifted   in warmer weather to help the guests enjoy the outdoor space. This makes for a special place at The Gardens to hold your ceremony. My wedding packages are perfect for this type of venue and I am happy to tailor them to suit a bride and grooms specific needs. Each package tells the story of the wedding at The Gardens and my Pearl package with images supplied on DVD or memory stick is ideal. For the couples who require a wedding book included, then it’s my Ruby package that would suit best.

At The Gardens, probably the best place to get married is outside. There is a gazebo right in the middle of the gardens and can hold weddings with up to 150 guests. This covered area is perfect with each and every guest getting a good view of proceedings. Once the couple are married they have their reception drinks on the lawns and then the photographs can take place. Once I have taken the main group shots I take the couple around the grounds for the more intimate shots.  The reception is held then it is more photographs around the venue with the lovely evening light.

The Gardens, Yalding  is a lovely and relaxed venue for a wedding with great opportunities for the wedding photographs and is another favourite place for me to work. Please see my wedding gallery showing some of my work at The Gardens.
